Countershading 30.4.209 -1.7.2019

‘Countershading’ is a natural form of camouflage found in animals, in which the upper side of their bodies are darker than their underside.

We were specifically inspired by this concept, as it seemed a beautiful catalyst for the participating artists to push themselves to explore light and dark through their individual mediums in novel ways.

We put together a very diverse group of brilliant, young artists, to deliver a spectacular group show with just the perfect amount of harmony and contrast.

MURMERS OF EARTH 26.3.2019 – 26.4.2019

Is a group show inspired by The Voyager Spacecrafts that were launched in 1977.

Aboard it is the Golden Records

A time-capsule of the human spirit encrypted in binary code on a twelve-inch gold-plated copper disc, containing greetings in the fifty-four most prolific human languages and songs from humpback whales, 117 images of life on Earth, and a representative selection of our planet’s sounds, from an erupting volcano, to a kiss, to Bach.

And so, on Valentine’s Day of 1990, the Voyager took the now-iconic image of Earth

known as the “Pale Blue Dot” — a grainy pixel, “a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam,” as Carl Sagan so poetically put it when he immortalized the photograph in his beautiful “Pale Blue Dot” monologue from Cosmos — that great masterwork of perspective, a timeless reminder that “everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was… every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician” lived out their lives on this pale blue dot. And every political conflict, every war we’ve ever fought, we have waged over a fraction of this grainy pixel barely perceptible against the cosmic backdrop of endless lonesome space.

In the cosmic blink of our present existence, as we stand on this increasingly fragmented pixel, it is worth keeping the Voyager in mind as we find our capacity for perspective constricted by the stranglehold of our cultural moment.

Lemons Don’t Get Much Sweeter 7.2.2019 – 19.2.2019

“Lemons are characteristically bitter and for most that’s the first and only thing that comes to mind…

However, lemons are wonderous little fruits that magically enhance so many flavors and dishes. They are thus a very poetic analogy for us human beings, that so quickly judge everything at a mere glance we click ‘like’ ‘swipe left’ ‘swipe right’ all in a matter of split seconds. So, we want to invite you all to pause, and to search deeper than just the surface to acknowledge and appreciate what lies beneath.”

Universal Coherence 29.11.2018 – 29.01.2019

Absolutely everything is a meaningful sign…

Forming a coherent unity, given to us by a perfectly interconnected conscious universe, not only because of faith, but logic also.  The world is already perfect by its complementarity at any given moment, and we continue living only to see by how much we may increase its perfection
